Lightning Ridge Farm breeds goats for breed improvement, showing, and production. Therefore, we hold the right to retain any goat that we so choose for the purpose of our breeding program. We offer a free waiting list for anyone who is interested in our upcoming breedings. Any buckling/doeling that we plan to retain will be reflected on this list. Anyone on the waiting list will be contacted in order when the kids of that breeding are born. After being contacted you will have 24 hours to reply before we move to the next name on the list. If you so choose, when contacted you may send a $100 non-refundable deposit via PayPal Friends and Family to hold the goat of your choosing. Once everyone on the list has been contacted, the remaining kids will be listed as available to the public.

Lightning Ridge Farm holds the right to refuse a sale for any reason. Goats will only go to homes that have other goats or you will need to purchase multiple from us. They are herd animals and will not be sold to live in a home without another goat, NO EXCEPTIONS.
Goat(s) will only be held once a $100 deposit (per goat) is made via PayPal Friends and Family or Venmo. The remaining amount is due in CASH at pickup. Out-of-state Buyers are required to comply with their state’s requirements regarding interstate travel and crossing state lines from North Carolina. Lightning Ridge is happy to obtain a CVI Veterinary Health Certificate or any testing required per Buyer’s State from our Veterinarian all of which will be paid by the Buyer.
All kids will be up to date on coccidia prevention (CalfPro mixed with one of their daily bottles until weaned), disbudded (no exceptions), CD&T vaccine and booster/dates that the next one is due, bottle feeding instructions (if applicable), and a small ziploc bag of food to get them switched over to the feed you choose to use (We feed our herd Southern States 17% non-medicated pelleted feed which is special ordered from our local store). Upon pickup, a completed ADGA registration application/transfer papers, a copy of the goat’s personal record, a Bill of Sale, and a signed copy of this purchase agreement.
A pick up date and time will be scheduled. If the Buyer is a no-show, it will result in the kid remaining under the ownership of Lightning Ridge Farm, therefore the goat can be re-listed as available for sale and the Buyer will forfeit deposit and any other amount paid.
Lightning Ridge Farm can only guarantee the health of the goat while it is in our care. Once it leaves Lightning Ridge Farm’s care, it becomes the Buyer’s responsibility. Deposits are non-refundable, with the exception of a kid passing away before the pick up date.
ALL SALES ARE FINAL. The Buyer is responsible for inspection of the animal upon arrival. Once a goat leaves our farm and is in the possession of the Buyer, the goat will NOT be allowed back on our premises for any reason due to herd biosecurity.
